Masons Ale March 2024

A big thank you to all the sides who joined us for our Ale on 16th March. Great to see our old friends again and to welcome the advent of spring and the dancing out season.

    Fritillary Sunday at Ducklington

Ducklington Morris and Masons Apron enjoyed another wonderful Sunday at Ducklington, with cream teas, fritillaries, handbell ringing and more.

Upton May Folk Festival

Undeterred by the lashing rain and mud fest, Masons circled the wagons at Upton-Upon-Severn for another excellent folk weekend.By Saturday, the sun had come out, and we danced all round the town. Sunday brought dancing in the church, followed by the procession of all the teams down to the waterfront.  More dancing around the town and a great time had by all! Video link

SUMMER  DANCE OUTS 2024

A damp and drizzly Monday night at The Masons Arms North Leigh, with Sharp and Blunt, turned into a fun evening of dance and companionship.

At the Red Lion Kidlington

Another lovely evening despite the rain! It was Judy's 80th birthday, which was celebrated inside the pub, with Eynsham and Cornucopia also in good voice.

Mr Hemmings Day of Dance, Abingdon

Another fantastic day of dance thanks to Mr Hemmings Abingdon Traditional and despite the usual summer weather (ie.rain....)

We rounded off the season with further dance-outs with Cry Havoc and Wolvercote Morris sides, ending with a wonderful evening at the George and Dragon in our home village of Long Hanborough. Yet again we also joined Mitcheldean's folk festival, a small but fun event despite the pouring rain!

Bunkfest 2024

Another great day out at Bunkfest, in Wallingford, on Saturday. Lots of Morris sides out dancing and plenty to see and do.  Masons danced with Enigma, a Border side from Somerset, Clerical Error from North Wales, Ellington from Maidenhead and the Knights of King Ina, also from Somerset. It was lovely to be out dancing again with a great side and lots of fun.

The Masons Apron Jolly to Eastbourne

Another fantastic Jolly with Masons Apron. Saturday saw us dancing on the wonderful Victorian pier, with coffee in the Victorian tea rooms, and more dancing along the promenade, and joy of joys, in the hotel's ballroom. The sun shone all day on Sunday, as we hoofed our way over the springing wooden boards of the pier again and then took lunch in the Castle Inn in Pevensey Bay. Our bus driver was heroic and waited as Masons poured out of the pub for the return trip  'home'. A session in the bar in the evening rounded the weekend off nicely.

Christmas at Cogges Manor Farm

On a sunny but cold winter's afternoon, Masons Apron trod the boards at Cogges Manor Farm near Witney. It was lovely to see so many families out enjoying the day, and some of the older kids joined us to dance Ashton, and were just brilliant!
