The 22nd February saw Masons Apron's Ale kicking off the season with other Morris sides including Mr Hemmings, Cry Havoc, Kirtlington, Wychwayz and Ducklington. A fun evening, with great food, and ending with a mass Masons' dance, Ashton.

Upton Folk Festival May 2025

Another great weekend of camping/pubbing and dancing at Upton-Upon-Severn. Around 30 Morris sides were dancing around the town, and then joining in the Procession on Sunday. We danced Mayapple, Cossington, Milnrow, Compass, Ashton, Hindley, Gisburn and Knutsford and had a whale of a time!

Woodstock - Still a Rave!

Well, what a great evening. With drinks at The Star and dancing in the square on a warm summer's night, what could be better? Masons Apron were joined by Ridgeway Step Clog, Cry Havoc and Owlswick for a great evening followed by a session in the pub.

The Plough Finstock

On a chilly summer's evening Masons Apron found themselves dancing outside The Plough, Finstock, in the good company of Charlbury and Finstock Morris. The weather may have been poor, but the dancing was fun, followed by a warm and cheerful session in the pub with some great singing!

The Lamb Ale Kirtlington

Many thanks to Kirtlington Morris, who invited us to the Lamb Ale, along with other sides.from all over the country. The Lamb Ale is an annual festival in Kirtlington, dating back to the early 17th century, possibly originating from a Whitsun Ale tradition. Over the years it has involved a week of feasting, drinking, and dancing, with a key element once being the "Lady of the Lamb" chosen from local maids who would catch a lamb with their mouths. For us, it was a great day of processions, dancing and community, and Masons had a thoroughly good time. The Church service too was popular, with well-known hymns and folk tunes. A great day had by all!
